During 2nd-3rd of September 2019, Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages (FILS) and Department of Engineering in Foreign Languages (DILS) organised in the UPB Central Library The 6th European Conference on the Engineering of Computer-Based Systems: http://www.ecbs.upb.ro/

ECBS integrates software, hardware, and communication perspective of system engineering through its many facets that include system modeling, requirements specification, simulation, architectures, safety, security, reliability, human-computer interaction, system integration, verification and validation, and project management.

ECBS 2019 attracted 49 submissions by authors from 17 countries, making it a highly international venue. A thorough review process resulted in accepting 25 papers, covering topics of interest in areas of parallel and distributed systems, software modeling and design, Internet of Things applications, security, privacy, and trust in networking and data analytics. ECBS always tried to blend academic and industrial perspective, that is why we had invited speakers from industry organized in a distinct session. ECBS also had a special session on computer-based algorithms and systems for efficiency and optimization in RF Spectrum detection and estimation and two invited keynote speakers from prestigious universities: associate professor Cristina Seceleanu, Mälardalen University, Sweden – Verifying Autonomous Systems as a Lifetime Sport, professor Miroslaw Staron, University of Gothenburg, Sweden – AI4SE: Challenges and opportunities of using machine learning and AI to improve software engineering practices.

Our sincere thanks go to our financial sponsors, which made this conference possible: University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, The Association of Romanian Electrical Electronics Engineers, Cognizant Softvision, DRUID, ADP Software and Alsys Travel. We thank also the student volunteers from ASAFF for their enthusiast and help.
